    Nagaland Agricultural Department undertakes visit to Cambodia, Oct 2023
    A 10-members Nagaland Agricultural Group led by its Director visited Cambodia from 24-28 October 2023. The team interacted with the farm community in Kampong Chhnang province and Smiling Gecko farmhouse, which is a fine example of eco-tourism. They had fruitful discussions with the Indian embassy in Cambodia to get an overview of the agriculture scenario in the country and opportunities for trade, collaboration and partnership. Their interaction with Cambodia Food Manufacturers Association (CFMA) and Siam Reap Meanchey Melon Association provided insights into several aspects of local farm to market innovations.

    The visit to SvayChek Organic Farm provided first- hand experience of how high quality fresh and organic produce, including edible flowers and fragrant herbs are grown and packaged. The trip to Chreav village floating village of Kampong Phluk on Tonle Sap provided insights into small agriculture related farming communities and their cottage industries.

    During their stay in Cambodia, the team visited heritage sites such as Preah Ang Chek, Preah Ang Chorm, Ya Tep, Old Market on a river in Old French Quarters, "Les Artisans d'Angkor – Chantiers Ecole", Finest Authentic Khmer Arts and Crafts & local market, walking tour of Wat Bo which is a large pagoda, with wall paintings dating to late 19th century. Heritage sites of Royal Palace compound and Silver Pagoda, the antique capital of Angkor Thom, Ta Phrom and famous Angkor Wat wee the other highlights.

    Exotic Japan Ladies Group, Oct 2023
    A 13-member ladies group (56 to 72 years) comprising retired academicians from Assam visited Japan (Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Osaka and Nara) from 2–10 October 2023. During the stay in Japan they experienced the culture, traditions, customs and lifestyle of the local Japanese juxtaposing what they knew of the country of the rising sun from what they had read and taught to students to modern day Japan of today. They packed in a lot in the hectic tour and soaked in sights, sounds and experiences of a lifetime besides bonding with one another. The bustling city of Tokyo and the Ginza district, the Shiboya crossing, Imperial Palace, Sky Tower; sake tasting and walking in the famous Gion district of Kyoto, visits to temples, origami museum, getting the perfect sighting of the Mt. Fuji and taking the Panorama Ropeway and boat ride, visiting the sombre Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima Island, playing with the deer at Nara, spending a day in Osaka with ample opportunity to shop, eat and sample a generous slice of the Japanese life was indeed a memorable trip for all.

    Mesmerising Vietnam, a 4-city Study Tour from India, Jan 2023
    A-20 member team of professors from Assam visited Vietnam for an interaction with Dong A University in Da Nang. Interact with senior management and faculty helped the group learn more about the Vietnamese system of higher education, policies regarding international studies and exploring opportunities for potential collaboration and tie-up with Indian universities from the Northeast. Interaction with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to learn more about Vietnam-India ties was fruitful. The delegation also met with the University of Social Sciences & Humanities, a national university besides visiting major attractions in Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh, Cu Chi Tunnel and Makong Delta during their stay in Vietnam

    Agriculture Exposure Visit to Japan for Himachal Pradesh Government, Dec 2022
    Senior officials from the Himachal Pradesh agriculture department visited Tokyo, Sapporo, Furano, Hokkaido, Kyoto and Osaka to study agriculture marketing practices and promotion activities. They observed greenhouse farming, wholesale sorting and packaging centres for fruits and vegetables, leading Japanese Agriculture Cooperatives, agriculture and technology university, mushroom farms and similar.

    Agricultural and Horticulture Study Tour to Vietnam for Nagaland Government, Nov 2022
    A 6-member group from Nagaland agriculture department undertook a multi-city tour of their neighbouring country, Vietnam to learn about crop diversification and innovations in rural farming. Meetings with the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA) and several other farm projects provided insights in the country’s traditional and modern agriculture practices.

    Principals and Professors’ Familiarisation Tour to Vietnam 18 to 27 July 2022
    A 31-member group from Assam and Delhi comprising Principals, Directors, Deans, Professors, student researchers and sustainability experts visited Hanoi, Halong Bay, Da Nang and Ho Chn Minh cities of Vietnam where they had interactions with the Indian Ambassador, Mr Pranay Verma, Director Tourism Board, Da Nang and numerous heads of academic institutions in Vietnam to explore opportunities for faculty and student exchange and other cultural and research collaborations.

    Exposure Visit to Austria and Italy from 12 to 23 May 2022
    Group of senior government officials from the Agriculture Department of the Himachal Government visited Austria and Italy as part of a World Bank funded programme with planned visits to organic farms, apple production and processing farms, fruit cooperatives, vegetable and fruit research centres, fruit juice processing facilities and other agriculture marketing organisations in Vienna, Salzburg, Bolzano, South Tyrol and Munich.

    Study Tour to North-East India from 05 to 12 May 2022
    An 11-member team from the Himachal Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board visited Gangtok, Darjeeling and Guwahati to meet officials of the Agriculture Department in the NE states and learnt from best practices in organic and natural farming. They observed their agricultural marketing system and visited local markets to know more about their supply chains, marketing of organic produce and have interactions with farmers and traders. The group also visited local tea gardens, tea factories and other agri-outlets.

    Exposure Visit to Turkey, Italy & Spain by Agriculture Marketing: 30 Jan to 8 Feb 2020
    An eight-member team including the State Minister for Agriculture and other senior officials from the agriculture marketing department from Himachal Pradesh visited Turkey, Italy and Spain with the aim of seeking collaboration and exposure to the progress made by the countries visited during their stay. The team visited several projects and sites to see innovations in sustainable farming and high yield production.
