Bargain hunting at flea markets

Flea markets have a charm all their own. A melting pot of local cultures they bring together a fascinating abundance of trivia apart from creating a festive spirit that is unique to the area. From the flea markets of Goa to those of Europe there is an eclectic charm to them. Like the time in Barcelona a lady arranging her array of trinkets and jewellery shoed us away since she was so focused on beautifying her allotted desk. True enough when we returned after an hour, it was hard to believe that the odd collection could look right out of a vogue magazine. Or the hilarious time one dragged a bunch of friends to the flea market in Prague only to find most of the stuff from China Town. Although the saving grace was to find a few rare pieces of hand crafted crystal ware.
