27 member group visits China on Educational Tour

The primary objective of the tour is to familiarise the Students and the Faculty members with the rapid changes taking place in China across sectors and geographical locations.

A 27 member group comprising of 14 MBA/IT students and 11 Senior Professors and Faculty Members representing Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi, Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata, Rajiv Gandhi Central University, Itanagar, Kalyani College of Engineering, West Bengal, DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering, Maharashtra and G.I.T.A.M College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh left for Beijing on a 10 Day Educational Tour to China for MBA/IT Students and Faculty Members from India's Premier Business Schools and Colleges of Engineering from 25 November – 5 December, 2007.
The three Chinese cities being covered include Beijing, Shenyang and Shanghai. The 27 member group is being jointly led by Neha Juneja, Final Year student of Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi and Prof. Ashoke K Dutta, Director, Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata. The primary objective of the tour is to familiarise the Students and the Faculty members with the rapid changes taking place in China across sectors and geographical locations.
The secondary objective of this tour is to convert this Educational Tour to China into regular 8 Week International Internship Programmes in China from 2009 onwards for Select Indian B-Schools for which India China Alliance Centre is already in touch with the Management of "International Internship Shanghai" of Shanghai Overseas Talent Service Centre. This Centre enjoys the support of Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and East China Normal University.
The programme includes a Presentation by Associate Prof. of Marketing Liu Baocheng on Chinese Economic Scenario at the University of International Business and Economics Beijing. The group would also be interacting with the Associate Dean of the Business School at UIBE Madam Wang Zhihui to explore possibilities of mutual cooperation. The group is also scheduled to visit The Beijing Centre for Chinese Studies at the UIBE. Meeting with Liang, President, Founder Corp., Visits to Compunicate  and Gigamega Electronics; Chun Guan Chuan (Beijing's largest IT Software Technology Park) and one of the oldest companies of China in the Business of   Poultry  (Ducks) with a focus on their distribution and retail channels will be the highlights of the Beijing programme.
In Shenyang, the 27 member group will go through an exciting presentation on Investment Opportunities in Northeastern China by Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation. The Shenyang programme would also include interaction and visits to Neusoft Group; Interaction with students and faculty members of Asia-Australia Business School, Liaoning University, Chinese Call Centre; Shenyang's leading retail chain, State Owned Enterprise (SOE) and a Food Processing Unit.
In Shanghai, the group will informally interact with Jennifer Pan, Managing Director, ChinaSense; V R Rangarajan, COO, Infosys, Shanghai and B K Satish, Head, Institutional Alliances, NIIT, Shanghai. Visit to Shanghai General Motors and China Europe International Business School ( http://www.ceibs.edu/) – Ranked No. 11 in the World would form an integral part of the programme. At CEIBS, the group will go through to interesting presentations on different facets of China by Prof. Thomas E Callarman, Professor of Operations Management, CEIBS and Claudia Schaefer, Deputy Director, Dean's Office, CEIBS. The group would also be visiting Shanghai Mart – China's 1 st and Asia's largest permanent International Trade Mart.
A visit to The Great Wall of China, Forbidden City, Tian An Men Square, Beijing Opera Performance, Visit to the Shenyang Museum and a River Cruise in Shanghai, Visit to the Jade Buddha Temple, Pudong TV Tower would be the major tourist attractions. There would also be plenty of opportunities to shop in all the three cities for the first ever Educational Tour to China sent under the banner of India China Alliance Centre. India China Alliance Centre is being represented by Gauttam Agawari, Programme Director and Hema Verma, Associate Programme Director.
